The Ghost Rider Series: SRO Presents

In the past, most of the motorcycle video's we featured on this site depicted a series of wheelies and stoppies performed by local suburban motorcycle stunt groups. Frustrated by these mundane calls for attention, and in an attempt to offer something more unique to my visitors, I dedicated the theme of SRO towards the depiction of illegal racing on public streets. For years, I've always been drawn to motorcycles. Not so much for their ability to maneuver around a race track, but rather for the maneuverability in urban settings. In this respect, I've been combing the net for videos featuring stunt riders doing what can only be described as complete lunacy. The first of my findings was the now famous Pascal on La Peripherique video. Arguably, this has been one of the most contreversial videos among the online motorcycle community. Needless to say, most of the feedback was rather negative. Realizing this effect, I decided to do no less then further fuel their anger. However, I was far out of luck as no video managed to come anything close to that of Pascal's. In my recent trip to Hungary, a cousin of mine introduced me to the Ghost Rider series set in stockholm sweden. Having already been impressed by the Getaway in Stockholm films which featured various cars engaged in high speed police chases, I knew I was in for a real treat. And let me tell you, Swedish people are some the craziest maniacs on the road. It is no wonder that they created Volvo's.

Ghost Rider performs some of the craziest in traffic stunt riding I have ever seen. With this respect, SRO will feature these videos in series. Every week, we will post a new episode.

2007 Kawasaki ZX-6R

A cheater engine no more, the powerplant of the 2007 ZX-6R is 599cc and the integral component in Kawasaki's supersport redesign.

The new Ninja brings a unique element to this class by providing a cassette-type transmission. This design allows racers easy gearbox ratio swaps that are pratically impossible with the arrangements on typical transmission designs. Of course, the clutch is a slipper-type, as before, and now optional springs, retainers and shims can be ordered to fine-tune the slipper effect for rider preferences.

The most obvious change to the ZX-6R is its appearance. Up front, projector-beam headlights frame a centrally located ram-air duct, the latter also providing the mount for the bike's instruments.. The gauges are updated, thankfully without the cursed LCD tach of old and now with a gear-position indicator. Flush-mount turnsignals and the new nose contribute to what Kawi says is the most aerodynamically efficient Ninja currently available. Also note larger cutouts in the side fairings and the cleanly integrated exhaust shielding. Kawi reps also tell us of a slimmer fuel tank despite the same 4.5-gallon capacity of old.
